Why everyone keeps coming back.

Located in the heart of New York City at 23 W 33rd St, Tacombi offers an authentic taste of Mexican street food in a vibrant, welcoming setting. Specializing in classic Mexican and burrito fare, this restaurant is a haven for lovers of bold, layered flavors and fresh ingredients. Whether you’re craving crispy, savory tacos or hearty, well-crafted burritos, Tacombi’s menu delivers with precision and passion.

Signature dishes like the Crispy Chicken Tinga Burrita feature tender chicken tinga paired with refried black beans and a lively habanero crema, all wrapped in a soft Vista Hermosa flour tortilla—made in-house with just wheat flour, cassava root, water, and avocado oil for a simple yet delightfully authentic base. The Shrimp Burrita surprises the palate with seared shrimp enhanced by melted Chihuahua cheese, guacamole, and a piquant topping of jalapeño toreado, creating an irresistible mixture of smoky, creamy, and spicy notes. For plant-based diners, the Vegana Burrita combines roasted sweet potato and kale, showcasing the kitchen’s ability to balance vibrant textures and flavors even without meat.

Beyond burritos, Tacombi delights with a curated selection of beverages including refreshing Lupita Sodas and cool Aguas Frescas, perfect companions to any meal’s rich and festive flavors. Their attention to quality extends to every detail, from freshly made organic flour tortillas to artisan soda packs designed for catering, ensuring every bite and sip feels like a mini celebration.

The atmosphere at Tacombi is both relaxed and spirited, ideal for a casual meal before exploring nearby attractions like the Empire State Building. Great tacos, friendly host, and very attentive service. The food is consistently good and the atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming. I’ve been to this location and another near Columbus Circle, and in both cases the staff has been genuinely amiable. A solid, reliable spot.

It was an incredible experience; from the moment you arrive, you feel a truly Mexican atmosphere. For appetizers, I recommend the "corn esquites" and "guacamole con totopos". The tacos and quesadillas are delicious, especially the "baja crispy fish", “beef birria”, and "Sinaloa shrimp". Another important point is the customer service; they greet you and serve you with great kindness and are very helpful. The waiter who served me was named Alberto, and he explained the menu to me in a simple and efficient way. By the way, the "volcán de pastor" is a new dish, and it's also very delicious.
